Women, including Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome, went to Jesus’ tomb very early in the morning to prepare his body for burial. They found the stone rolled away and the tomb empty, and an angel appeared to them, telling them that Jesus had risen. The women then reported the news to the disciples.

Easter is celebrated for a total of 50 days, starting with Easter Sunday and concluding on Pentecost Sunday. The first eight days of this period are known as the “Octave of Easter”, and are celebrated as solemnities of the Lord.
