*The Blessed Virgin Mary sits, holding the Christ Child, in front of a rose bush, which is hung with depictions of each mystery of the Rosary. Our Lady hands a rosary to St. Dominic, and Christ extends His hands to a bishop. Other saints kneel, looking towards the Blessed Mother and her Son. **Our Lady of the Rosary, also known as Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, is a Marian title.The Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, formerly known as Feast of Our Lady of Victory and Feast of the Holy Rosary is celebrated on 7 October in the General Roman Calendar. 7 October is the anniversary of the decisive victory of the combined fleet of the Holy League of 1571 over the Ottoman navy at the Battle of Lepanto.
