*Sacred Scripture* The Daughter of Jairus — Tissot
This artwork by Tissot shows Jesus performing a miracle by bringing the 12-year-old daughter of Jairus to life. Jairus and his wife watch as Christ raises the girl from the bed, while the apostles Peter, James and John look on from the rear right of the image. “And taking the damsel by the hand, he saith to her: ‘Talitha cumi’, which is, being interpreted: ‘Damsel, I say to thee, arise’. And immediately the damsel rose up, and walked: and she was twelve years old: and they were astonished with a great astonishment.” — Mark 5:41-42
Mk 5:41-42
41* He took the child by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum,” which means, “Little girl, I say to you, arise!”
42The girl, a child of twelve, arose immediately and walked around. [At that] they were utterly astounded.
43He gave strict orders that no one should know this and said that she should be given something to eat.
Jesus raises daughter
At Jairus’ house, Mark and Luke report that Jesus “saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly” (Mark 5:38; Luke 8:52 NIV); according to Matthew, he “saw the noisy crowd and people playing pipes” (Matthew 9:23 NIV) He informed all those present that the girl was not dead but asleep; in Matthew, Jesus even tells the crowd to ‘Go away’ But the crowd laughed at Jesus. Mark says Jesus put the crowd outside; Matthew confirms this happens without mentioning who does it; Luke doesn’t report it, but instead emphasizes that the crowd ‘knew she had died’.
Jesus then went back inside (Mark, Matthew). He took the girl by the hand, and she got up. In Mark’s account, the Aramaic phrase “Talitha koum” (transliterated into Greek as ταλιθα κουμ and reportedly meaning, “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”) is attributed to Jesus (Mark 5:41 NIV) Luke’s Jesus says “My child, get up!”; Matthew’s Jesus is silent. The accounts in Mark and Luke end with Jesus’ commands that the girl should be fed and that Jairus and his wife should tell no-one what had happened. On the other hand, Matthew concludes the narrative by saying: ‘News of this spread through all that region.’

Saying the holy name of Jesus is the simplest way of praying always.
1-A prayer from Raphael the Archangel:
*While you are on this earth, you must praise the Lord God and give him thanks.
2-A prayer from Tobit and Tobias:
*They began to sing hymns of praise, giving thanks for all the mighty deeds God had done while his angel Raphael had been with them.
3-A simple Jesus prayer:
*Lord, Lord, Jesus Christ…Son of God…have mercy on me…Be kind to others…Work Hard…Be joyful.
4-Another prayer:
*When all that God asks of us is to be quiet and keep ourselves at peace-attentive to the secret work He is beginning in our souls-Be Empty and See That I Am God.
Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.
